Stories: Exhibiting in an Art Museum.

Last week, I submitted two photographs for consideration in an upcoming Exhibition called, Be Inspired! at the Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale.  “The Art of Caring: A Look at Life through Photography ” exhibit featured photographs from some photographer greats like Annie Lebowitz.  This exhibit showcased seven themes:  Children and Family, Love, Wellness, Healing, Disaster, Aging and Remembering  from over 200 photographs.

The museum then started the Be Inspired! project which accepted entries from the community in the same seven themes, and the museum jury selected entries to be exhibited. I submitted two photographs “Mug Shot Love” and “Remembering Valujet 592” as part of the project. To my surprise, the jury selected BOTH of them to  be apart of the Exhibit that runs October 1 – 6, 2011. This is nothing like any of my solo exhibitions, or even national exhibitions because my photography is being exhibited, not only in an art museum but along side of great monumental, historic photographers who inspired this. Simply Amazing.

If you are curious as to what two photos will be on display. Check them out below!
